Seismic Impact Quilt Pattern

Hello there! This is my Seismic Impact Quilt! My son named this one, he thought the ripple effect looked like a Seismic Impact. I wanted to design a quilt that could be made in two colors or several colors. Also, I love designing quilts that aren’t super girly. My cousin is having a baby boy this fall and I will be gifting her this baby size quilt.

I found these beautiful fabrics in my stash and thought they’d be perfect for this quilt. The pattern is written so you can have 6 main colors with a background. I decided to use each of my colors twice with the gray background color.
I like how the fabrics look like solids from a distance, but up-close they have a print.

Fabrics: A & D: Andover Fabrics – Bumble Bee Basics Rain White,
B & E: Dear Stella – Dash Flow in Aruba,
C & F: Dear Stella – Dash Flow in Cobalt, and
G: Kona Cotton – Iron.

I quilted this one using the design as a guide. I lined my walking foot up on the seams so there is a quilting line abut 1/4 inch from the seams. I love how it turned out!

  1. Love your pattern, especially the various color combinations! What are the dimensions?

    1. I’m so happy you like it! The pattern includes instructions for a Baby- 48 x 48, Throw – 60 x 60 in, Large Throw – 72 x 72 in, X-Large Throw – 84 x 84 in, Queen – 96 x 96 in and King 108 x 108 in sizes.

  2. Do you have fabric requirements for the four color version?

    1. The design is split into 7 colors, A-G (G being the background). So, If you would like to use 4 colors, use the coloring sheet to decided which colors you’d like to be what and then combine those fabric amounts. For my cover photo I grouped A and D, B and E, C and F and G is my background. I hope this helps.

  3. I tried to order the pattern but the website was not user friendly for me.
